Bhutan welcomes travellers with a “high value, low volume” policy — every visit is planned with a licensed guide.
Permits and the daily fee
- Indian citizens need a passport or voter ID card; we arrange the entry permit.
- A daily Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) applies. The amount is different for Indian and other nationals — we confirm the current rate in your quote.
Best time
- March–May: flowering valleys and festivals.
- September–November: clear skies and the Thimphu festival.
Don’t miss
The hike to Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest), Punakha Dzong at the meeting of two rivers, and the Dochula pass with its 108 chortens.
